Backyard Proposal | Tomas + Bailey
My youngest sister has been dating an incredible guy and she knew he was going to be her husband. Tomas started planning the proposal and told Madison (the middle sister) and myself (the oldest sister) so that we could be there for it. The original plan was to go to Grand Rapids and recreate one of their early dates. However with the stay home order, so may things were closed and things would be different. We knew Bailey wanted our families involved for a celebration of sorts after the event. Driving to one of our parents houses after a proposal in Grand Rapids at sunset would be too late. We changed plans about a week before the proposal to have the proposal in Tomas’ parents back yard. His family worked hard at prepping the back yard to be picture perfect!
Tomas told Bailey that they were having a family dinner. Tomas picked Bailey up from our moms house and drove her to his parents house. Madison and I were hiding inside the house so that we could follow behind them to the backyard to document the proposal. Our hearts were racing as we knew what was ahead of them.
Tomas led Bailey to the backyard, where he had strung string lights and a charcuterie board was laid out on top of some artisan rugs for a magical picnic setting. They walked over to the arbor hand in hand, and he told Bailey how he felt, got down on one knee, and proposed. She said yes!!!
During the proposal Madison was filming the proposal with one hand, and with the other hand she was holding her phone to FaceTime our mom!
After the proposal, we went inside Tomas’ family house where we had a photobooth set up and a family dinner.
We all gathered together on a long table. Dave (my step dad) smoked some pulled pork and Tomas mom made some amazing sides and dessert.
