My Engagement Story - Valentines Proposal in Stoney Creek, Michigan
It’s our proposal aniversary and I wanted to share our story!
Chance and I met over Tumblr when I found his photography blog. I sent him my phone number so he could teach me everything about photography. I knew this guy had talent and it was so different than anything else I had seen, I had to get in his head so I could grow in photography. Fast forward about 2 years we were now dating and we would go on photo dates. We would walk around parks and take portraits of each other and take nature pictures.
This particular Sunday Chance had a whole date day planned. I just wanted to nap and eat pizza since it was a sunday and I didn’t care at all what we did. BUT Chance had told me he found a new picture spot for us to go to and he was really excited about it. We packed up the car and headed to Stoney Creek. We had walked around the park so many times before, but we hadn’t exactly walked in this exact path before. As we turned around the corner to see the rows of trees, I could see something hanging up in the trees. I counted the banner pieces and tried to figure out what it could say. I don’t really know if Chance and I were talking, these dates were usually pretty chill with us admiring nature, so it wasn’t unusual for us to not talk. We got up to the banner, I turned around so I could see what it said. “Will you marry me”. I read it and thought, how cool, someone got engaged! Im so bummed I missed it and I couldn’t photograph it! I looked over to Chance so I could tell him this thought, and he wasn’t standing up. He was on his knee. My mind started racing and holy crap, this was for ME! Before Chance could say a single word, I tackled him to the ground and gave him the biggest hug. I was SO happy my best friend wanted to marry me. No words were exchanged for our proposal. The sign asked the question and my tackle was an obvious YES!
After we stood up and I was crying tears of joy, my friend Todd started yelling that we said yes too fast and that Chance needed to get on his knee again for a picture LOL. This is the picture of that moment. I was flooded with joy and Chance was the happiest man on earth.
