Katie and Mike Comerica Park Wedding | Monnette Photographaphy - Detroit Wedding Photographer
Katie and Mike got married at Comerica Park in Detroit. From Katie’s baseball wedding shoes to Mike’s Tigers cuff-links, every detail was thought of and matched the scene. Katie said that she didn’t want a big wedding unless it was at Comerica Park and they made it happen.
They got ready at The Westin Book Cadillac Hotel downtown. Katie had a beautiful first look with her dad once she was in her wedding dress. As soon as he saw her, you could tell how proud he was and how much he loved it (cue the tears!!). Then we made our way over to Comerica Park where Katie and Mike had their first look! Mike was in front of the gates when Katie came behind him, slapped his shoulders and he turned around to see his bride for the first time that day. They took a moment to soak it in, cry, hug, and laugh. Literally all of the emotions happened in this first look!
Their ceremony was by the cigar lounge up stairs where they could overlook the field through the glass. Their ring bearer had a first catch with Mike before the ceremony tie-ing in the theme of the day! During the ceremony the bridesmaids took turns reading from “I Like you” by Sandol Stoddard. I totally recommend having this book as your reading during your wedding! It was beautiful and unique!
Katie and Mike had the awesome opportunity of having all of Comerica Park to themselves for their wedding. For their family formal pictures we were able to be down next to the field!!! We couldn’t go onto the grass, but we got as close as we possibly could. It was an amazing opportunity! The wedding party even got to sit in the dougout. Katie and her family have a regular spot they sit in every season. So we went to their area and took their traditional picture (BUT IN WEDDING ATTIRE! SO COOL!)
Their reception was nothing short of amazing (like the rest of the day). Their cake topper had the two of them with their dog and their signature drink was named after their dog! Each table had facts about their relationship too. During their first dances, Paws showed up and crashed the party! It was so fun and they partied all night with their friends and family.
