Sam + Kelly Detroit Engagement Pictures
Sam proposed to Kelly on the sunny beaches of California. He completely surprised her when he turned a picnic on the beach into a proposal. In the middle of their engagement, between planning and the wedding, Kelly and Sam visited Michigan to visit Kelly’s family. During this time they contacted me, their Detroit photographer friend! I went to high school with Kelly and was so lucky to document their engagement pictures. You see, Kelly was totally a cool kid in high school. Her younger sister Amy was one of my best friends and was in my class. Older siblings are always way cooler than us. But during this time it was all about Kelly and Sam. They flawlessly went together, holding hands, walking together, and lovingly looking at each other. There was a comfort and steady-ness about them. It wasn’t just puppy dog love, but loyalty and partnership between them as well as a strong love. We went around Detroit, from rooftops to Madcap (drinking the best hot chocolate!), and walking through Shinola looking at watches.
